  1. The Club Roster is confidential and shall not be used for commercial or political purposes.
  2. The Club shall not sponsor or advertise any activities that involve personal gain on the part of an individual.
  3. The Club shall not take part in any political activity. No political announcements or notices are permitted nor any petitions circulated on the premises.
  4. Keys to the building or cupboard are NOT to be loaned. No duplicate keys may be made except by permission of the President.
  5. Club property shall not be removed from the building or grounds without permission of the President.
  6. Annual donations may be made to approved charities and shall be a maximum of 10 percent (%) of the previous year’s club event income.
  7. Premises must be vacated by 11:00 p.m.
  8. Candles may not be used unless in a hurricane lamp.
  9. If space is available, guests are welcome at all parties and pay the non-member fee and/or the full cost per person if the event is catered. Guests are welcome at all Soledad Club bridge games and pay one dollar more than members. All players pay the same at ACBL games.
  10. Occupancy is:
    MAIN ROOM – 357 without seating, 167 with fixed seating
    SURF ROOM – 159 without fixed seating, 74 with fixed seating
    BOTH ROOMS – 516 without fixed seating, 241 with fixed seating
    DOWNSTAIRS – 97 without fixed seating, 45 with fixed seating
  11. In marathon and partner bridge events, the Soledad rules state; “only one re-deal per six hands” and an unfinished game is scored as 100 points.
  12. General Membership meetings may be held at a date and time designated by the Board in January, March, May, September, October and November, but a minimum of twice a year. (Subject to change without notice.)
  13. Board meetings may be held the second or third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
  14. Annual dues are thirty dollars ($30.00), payable by check (no cash). There is a late fee of $5.00 after December 31st. New members joining after June 20th, pay fifteen dollars ($15.00). Lifetime membership is $150.00. Dues rates are subject to change by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members present at a General Membership Meeting.
  15. All donations made to non-profit organizations in the County of San Diego by the Soledad Club shall be allocated to a specific project within their non-profit organization.
  16. The Nominating Committee is responsible for seeking qualified candidates. The Nominating Committee’s discussion is strictly confidential. A member of the committee may submit his/her name for candidacy. More than one member may be nominated for any office. The Committee should consist of objective, mature members who are well informed on the organization’s work, policies and procedures and familiar with the qualifications of those who might be logical candidates for office. No member may serve more than three consecutive years in the same position without a unanimous vote of the Board.
  17. These Policies and Procedures may be amended at a General Membership Meeting by majority vote of those members present.
  18. Members in good standing (minimum of one year membership) may rent the Soledad Club facilities at a 20% discount. Executive Board Members (past and present) may rent at a 30% discount. Non-profit organizations may rent the facilities on a space and date availability. The charge shall be no less than the current daily overhead expenses and an additional charge at the discretion of the Executive Board of Directors.
  19. There shall be no “free play” offered to members of any Soledad Club game with occasional exceptions.
  20. Standard Procedures for Parties:
    • The 2nd VP is responsible for preparing an annual member event calendar
    • The 2nd VP is responsible for soliciting hosts for Potluck Parties and for Catered Parties – if no host is found then there will be no party. The 2nd VP will supervise all parties or assign someone else in their absence.
    • Hosts must present a menu and cost for each event. Potluck costs for main course, punch, decorations, prizes, etc. and catered events must be approved by the President. The Board will determine the cost to members/guests for Potluck and Catered Events.
